COMMERCIAL PLYWOODS
Commercial plywood is of MR grade (Moisture resistant) grade. Note that ‘moisture resistant’ is not the same as being ‘waterproof’. It only means that the plywood can withstand some amount of moisture, dampness and humidity. The adhesive used for bonding the plies together is Urea formaldehyde. Commercial plywood is most commonly used in the making of home and office furniture, and interior decoration work such as paneling, partitions.

FILM FACED PLYWOODS
Film-faced plywood is a strong exterior plywood used in building and construction projects. Its surface has a film coating which gives the plywood a higher resistance to moisture, abrasion, and fungal attacks compared to ordinary plywood.
Film faced plywood is the special plywood with two sides coated with wearable and water proof film. The film is adhesive impregnated paper, which are different from melamine paper overlay, PVC, MDO (MDO plywood) and HDO (HDO plywood). The function of the film is to protect the inside wood from moisture, water, weather and extend the plywood’s service life. Film faced plywood can be used in harsh and outside environment: shuttering plywood, formwork plywood, concrete formwork, floorboard, vehicle building.
Specification of Film Faced Plywood
(1). Film color: brown, black or others
The most common film is brown film or black film . In China, the brown film faced plywood usually has better quality than black film faced plywood. However, it’s not true all the time. Some black film faced plywood has the same high quality as brown film faced plywood. When you making an inquiry, an experienced salesman will know what the real quality you need.
(2). Quality of Film :
In China, there are 2 classifications of film: Local film and imported film . Local film means films made by Chinese companies. Imported film means film made by foreign companies, like Dynea . Dynea film is the best film brand in China. So if you require the best film for your plywood, we will use Dynea film.
(3). Core: poplar, hardwood, Eucalyptus, birch
70% of film faced plywood we are selling is poplar film faced plywood , which is high quality and price is competitive. If you need hardwood film faced plywood, we will use hardwood or eucalyptus veneers. If you want film faced plywood for building bridges or high buildings, you can choose hardwood film faced plywood, as its name says, it’s very hard. We also supply birch film faced plywood ,which are hard and durable, too.
(3). Glue: MR glue, WBP(melamine), WBP(phenolic)
We use these 3 types of glue. As for the knowledge of the glue, you can refer to the following articles:
What’s MR glue-which is commonly used for plywood / film faced plywood / blockboard
What is WBP glue – which is commonly used for WBP plywood / film faced plywood
Applications of Film Faced Plywood
(1) Construction industry: shuttering film faced plywood, concrete form, shuttering concrete form, formwork plywood
Film faced plywood is mainly used for construction . So film faced plywood is also called shuttering film faced plywood, concrete form, shuttering concrete form . Because of this end use, customers usually want WBP film faced plywood , which is more suitable to be used as shuttering for big projects . However, some customers require MR film faced plywood , which are to be used as shuttering for ordinary projects.
(2) Anti-slip film faced plywood: flooring materials for building vehicles, work platforms.
According to the types of face/back, film faced plywood can be divided into smooth film faced plywood and anti-slip film faced plywood. Anti-slip film faced plywood are usually used as flooring materials for vehicles, trucks and platforms.
(3) Film faced plywood can be used for shelves and furniture, too.
Compared with wood veneer faced plywood, film faced plywood is more durable and has more wear-resistant surfaces . So it can be used for making durable furniture and shelves.

FLEXIBLE PLYWOODS
This flexible plywood panel is commonly called ‘Bendy plywood’ or ‘Flexi-ply’, and is used extensively in furniture and shop fitting, wherever curves are desirable, thus demanding a panel that is extremely flexible. Plywood with this flexible characteristic is manufactured from specially treated veneers, usually with a thinner central core veneer and two thicker ‘tenderized’ outer veneers. The special construction of particular species of veneers gives an unusually large degree of flexibility and offers a most cost-effective way of producing rounded columns and other curved structures of very small radius in rounded or S-shaped structures without water or the need for heat-forming. Flexible Plywood can be easily bent to shape. The arc formed by the bend is perpendicular to the grain direction of the face. The exact bending radii have to be determined in accordance with the type of surface finishing required and the extent of the surface to be treated.

FANCY VENEERED PLYWOOD
Compared to wood, one of the primary advantages of using veneer is stability. While solid wood can be prone to warping and splitting, because veneer is made of thin layers of wood glued together, the chances of splitting or cracking are reduced. Further, the glue used provides additional strength, making the end result stronger than natural wood. Some projects built using wood veneer would not be possible to construct using solid lumber, owing to expansion and contraction caused by fluctuation of temperature and humidity. Another advantage of veneer is sustainability—furniture made with wood veneer uses less wood than the same piece of furniture made with solid wood. Further, veneer may also be more readily available than solid wood as exotic hardwood lumber can be scarce and very expensive.
